YOSHIKI, once again, attended this year's charity gala ceremony "LACMA Art+Film Gala" held in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 2. Having just undergone his third neck surgery and being in the middle of rehabilitation, YOSHIKI was in a wheelchair when he recently appeared as a speaker at the Asian Hall of Fame, but this was the first time he attended an event without a wheelchair since his surgery, and he stunned the crowd with his appearance in a DIOR suit and MAISON YOSHIKI PARIS accessories, which graced the runway at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year.
YOSHIKI posted a photo taken at the venue on his Instagram, reflecting on the event he attended saying, "After my neck surgery, I'm now able to walk."
The event is famous for attracting many global stars from the art, film, fashion and entertainment industries every year. YOSHIKI first attended in 2017, and this year will be his fourth time attending, making it his third consecutive year starting in 2022. Other guests this year include world-famous celebrities such as actresses Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, and model and actress Kim Kardashian. YOSHIKI's red carpet appearance has been featured in global media such as Variety, WWD, Footwear News, The Hollywood Reporter, Reuters, and Vanity Fair.
YOSHIKI, who underwent surgery on Tuesday, October 8th, is currently in Los Angeles, prioritizing his recovery under the direction of his doctor. Since his surgery, YOSHIKI has appeared in public in a wheelchair, but this time he was seen walking down the red carpet, suggesting that his rehabilitation is progressing smoothly.
The "LACMA Art+Film Gala" is a charity gala ceremony held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (commonly known as LACMA), the largest museum in the western United States. It is held to raise funds to operate the museum and to honor filmmakers and artists who have contributed to culture development. The event is known for being co-chaired by LACMA Trustee Eva Chou and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
This year marks the 13th time the awards have been given, and the recipients were Simone Lee, an American artist who creates works in a variety of genres, including sculpture and installation art, and Baz Luhrmann, director of films such as "Romeo + Juliet" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and "Moulin Rouge!"
YOSHIKI is currently participating in a major project in Hollywood, details of which will be announced soon.
