On Tuesday, November 14th, YOSHIKI attended the Stars Asian International Film Festival in Los Angeles, and received the Icon Award. YOSHIKI was invited to attend as both an artist and film director.
At the ceremony, YOSHIKI was presented the award on stage by Anthony McCarten (screenplay writer of "Bohemian Rhapsody").
YOSHIKI then performed "Forever Love" and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".
It was previously announced that YOSHIKI would receive the prestigious Award of Honor at the 37th Japan Society Awards Gala held in San Francisco on November 1st. However, due to unfortunate family circumstances, he canceled his attendance to the award ceremony last minute and urgently returned to Japan from New York, where he was on tour. This time, he took time out of his busy schedule to attend the film festival's award ceremony.
YOSHIKI's first directorial work, YOSHIKI: UNDER THE SKY, was first released in theaters across Japan in September and at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles this month. The film will be released in theaters in the UK next month, and screening schedules for other countries around the world will be announced soon.
